On Thursday, November 6, Dr. George Jacobellis, Head of Flight Sciences at AIBOT, presented “From Model to Mission: Flight Controls, System ID, and Autonomy.”
He shared how flight data is accelerating the path to autonomy using the T500 tilt-wing eVTOL as a case study. By applying NASA-grade System Identification techniques to real flight-test data, the team refined aero-propulsive models and optimized control laws, transforming complex dynamics into reliable, high-performance control.
“A single 60-second multisine maneuver identified all control-effectiveness parameters—an efficient, repeatable approach that brings us closer to fully autonomous operations.” — Dr. George Jacobellis
AIBOT continues advancing autonomous flight systems that will power next-generation public safety, logistics, and infrastructure missions.
